Yaoi (Boy-love manga)

YaoiYaoi, aka shonen-ai or BL (Boy Love) manga, are cartoon magazines featuring homosexual relationships. The main characters are usually bishonen (“beautiful boys”) – slender, effeminate young men.

They often use famous characters from popular anime, manga and computer games, making yaoi similar to “slash fiction” (erotica featuring fictional male characters, i.e. Kirk/Spock) in the West.

Surprisingly, most of the readers and writers are female. The magazines are especially popular among schoolgirls and housewives.

Why is it “surprising” that shounen-ai is more popular with women? The genre is corny, sentimental and romantic in a way that usually wouldnt appeal even to a gay man – plus, boy-on-boy action is just as erotic for straight women as girl-on-girl is for straight men.

Exactly! It’s basically the same. Though… it can be addictive as my collection of manga has about 1/3 of it being Yaoi… ^.^

Why the fuck is an anti-yaoi site linked to this article? I don’t see any hater sites linked to the articles about shibari or bukkake.

    LOL.

I agree…it’s not really “surprising” at all, lol. I haven’t read a single yaoi by a man! I think it might be a bit more ODD for guys to enjoy it. BL = total love. I don’t know what I would do without it.

I especially love how housewives read yaoi so often. The poor house husband, lol.

Hallo to yaoi-fans an all others,

First of All it seems to me that most of you are ladies and don’t much know anything about BoysxBoys/ManxMan.
I as a 18 years old boy quite frecklier I like a lot of yaoi mangas/anemi/games/stories but badly enough there is to much love Sean’s than there should be. I and other man would really like realistic and more pornographic action and I mean definitely more Josie dick swinging around whit some of there milkshake pumping out.

Actually I don’t know much about yaoi, but I do really think that yaoi love is wonderful and sweet. Well, I do admit that I watched most of yaoi love on youtube, but I never read any manga because I don’t know where to buy it. by the way I’m a teenager.
